Use a wire brush in order to thoroughly clean all of the dirt and all of the foreign material from the seal grooves in the swing gear and bearing.
Wash the seal grooves with a suitable solvent that will not leave an oily residue.
Make sure that the seal grooves in the swing gear and bearing are thoroughly clean and dry prior to the installation of the dust seals.

Cut one end of inner dust seal (3) at an angle of 90 degrees. Use a blunt tool to install the inner dust seal in the seal groove of the swing gear and bearing. Position the lip of the seal toward the bearing, as shown.
Measure the inner dust seal and cut the remaining end of the inner dust seal at an angle of 90 degrees. Install the remaining end of the inner dust seal in the seal groove.
Make sure that the inner dust seal is correctly seated in the seal groove. Make sure that there is not a gap between the ends of the inner dust seal.Note: Tooling (C) cures very quickly.
Pull both ends of the inner dust seal out of the seal groove approximately 50.8 mm (2.00 inch). Apply Tooling (C) to the cut ends of the inner dust seal. Bond both ends together. Immediately install the inner dust seal into the seal groove of the swing gear and bearing.
Make sure that the inner dust seal is correctly seated in the seal groove. Make sure that there is not a gap between the ends of the inner dust seal.
Run a dull putty knife between the lip of the seal and the bearing at the seal joint in order to ensure that the lip of the inner dust seal does not adhere to the top of the bearing at the seal joint.
Repeat Step 1 through Step 9 in order to install outer dust seal (4). Refer to Illustration 1 for the correct seal orientation in the swing gear and bearing.
Lubricate swing gear and bearing (1) with Tooling (D) .
Clean the mating surfaces
