Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to each side of the oscillating axle and output transfer gears. The weight of the oscillating axle and output transfer gears is 1800 kg (3968 lb).
Use the lifting device in order to raise the oscillating axle and output transfer gears into position under the rear frame.

Install bolts (10), the nuts, the locking nuts and the washers that hold both sides of the front trunnion support (9) to the machine frame. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 900 100 N m (660 75 lb ft).
Repeat Step 3 for the rear trunnion support. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 370 50 N m (275 37 lb ft).

Apply Tooling (B) and then apply Tooling (C) to the threads of the bolts prior to assembly. Install four bolts (8) that hold rear drive shaft (7) to the output transfer gear yoke. Tighten bolts (8) to a torque of 135 20 N m (100 15 lb ft).

Apply Tooling (D) to the threads. Install four bolts (6) that hold rear drive shaft (7) in position. Tighten bolts (6) to a torque of 430 60 N m (320 45 lb ft).

Connect grease line (5) to the front trunnion support.
Connect grease line (not shown) to the rear trunnion support.
Connect service brake hose assembly (3). Connect parking brake hose assembly (4) .
Lubricate the front trunnion support bearing. Lubricate the rear trunnion support bearing. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Rear Axle Trunnion Bearings - Lubricate" for the correct procedure.

Connect breather hose assembly (2) .
Fill the oscillating axle and output transfer gears. The capacity of the oscillating axle and output transfer gears is 42 L (11.1 US gal). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Differential and Final Drive Oil Level - Check" for the correct procedure.
Purge the air from the braking system. Refer to Systems Operation Testing and Adjusting, "Braking System Air - Purge" for the correct procedure.
