Extend the bucket cylinder until the mounting bracket is resting against the stick of the host machine.

In order to locate the mounting bracket, extend the bucket cylinder or retract the bucket cylinder until the Dimension (L) is correct. Refer to the Table 1 for the correct dimension for your machine.Note: The pins (1), (2), and (3) on the Mechanical Pulverizer must be aligned. Use a straight edge to ensure that the pins are aligned.

Center the mounting bracket on the stick. Measure the clearance (I) on each side of the stick. Refer to 7.Note: You must follow this procedure if the mounting bracket is narrower than the stick of the host machine.

Do not use the side plates for mounting the bracket to the stick when the stick is wider than the mounting bracket.Note: Before you weld the mounting bracket to the stick, you must ensure that the mounting bracket does not interfere with the movement of the work tool.
In order to attach the mounting bracket to the stick, weld the bracket on all four sides to the stick. Refer to View 1 in Illustration 8 if the stick is more than 38 mm (1.5 inch) wider than the mounting bracket. Refer to View 2 in Illustration 8 if the stick is less than 38 mm (1.5 inch) wider than the mounting bracket. If the stick is less than 38 mm (1.5 inch) wider than the mounting bracket, the bottom of the mounting bracket must be machined. Refer to Illustration 8 for the welding dimensions. Refer to Illustration 8 for the dimensions in order to machine the mounting bracket.
Refer to Illustration 8 when you end the welds at Location (E). Allow the welds to run out.Note: You must use this procedure if the mounting bracket is wider than the stick of the host machine.Note: When the mounting bracket is wider than the stick of the host machine, you must use the two side plates.Note: Do not weld the front of the mounting bracket or the rear of the mounting bracket to the stick. Weld only the side plates to the stick.

Use a fillet weld in order to weld the side plates to the mounting bracket.
Weld the side plate to the stick. The welds should be 6 mm (0.24 inch).
When you have finished welding, remove the welding spatter. Remove all of the damaged paint. Paint the bare metal with primer. When the primer is dry, paint the area with a coat of paint.
