(5) Implement ECM fuse (12) The Implement ECMs are connected to the machine system power at five contacts on the J1 connector. The Implement ECMs are connected to the machine grounds at four contacts on the J1 connector. Other ground connections are used for the location code contacts, however, these are not used for operating grounds. An ECM would have to lose power at each of the five connections in order to completely lose all power for the ECM. There are conditions that can cause the ECM to completely lose power. An open fuse or circuit breaker will cause a loss of power. An open or a faulty connection in certain sections of the machine harness could cause a complete loss of power. If power is completely lost to one of the Implement ECMs or to another ECM on the machine, the ECM that has lost power will not activate any diagnostic codes. When this occurs, a large amount of machine functions will not operate and the other ECMs on the machine will activate multiple diagnostic codes. If multiple diagnostic codes have been activated within a short amount of time, always check the power circuits for the ECMs before investigating individual components. If the power circuits for the ECMs are OK, look for a common factor for the components that have the active diagnostic codes such as shared grounds or power circuits. An individual component is usually not causing the problem when more than one or two diagnostic codes are activated at the same time. The following lists give examples of multiple diagnostic codes and events that will most likely be activated when a particular ECM has lost power:Loss of power to the Implement ECMCID 0569 FMI 09 - Implement ECM - Activated by: Transmission Chassis ECM, Engine ECM and the Messenger.CID 0615 FMI 03 - Articulation Angle Sensor 1 - Activated by: Transmission Chassis ECM.CID 1471 FMI 03 - Steer Position Sensor 1 - Activated by: Transmission Chassis ECM.CID 1472 FMI 03 - Steer Position Sensor 2 - Activated by: Transmission Chassis ECM.CID 2199 FMI 03 - Secondary Steer Request Signal - Activated by: Transmission Chassis ECM.CID 2201 FMI 03 - Right Steering Cylinder Position Sensor - Activated by: Transmission Chassis ECM.EID 0192 Level 3 - Steering System Malfunction - Activated by: Transmission Chassis ECM.Loss of power to the Transmission Chassis ECMCID 0569 FMI 09 - Transmission Chassis ECM - Activated by: Implement ECM, Engine ECM and the Messenger.CID 1473 FMI 03 - Steer Position Sensor 3 - Activated by: Implement ECMCID 2200 FMI 03 - Left Steering Cylinder Position Sensor - Activated by: Implement ECM.CID 2252 FMI 03 - Articulation Angle Sensor 2 - Activated by:
