Removal Procedure

Remove adjusting mechanism (3) for the air conditioner compressor, if equipped. Loosen mounting bolt (2) for the air conditioner compressor. Remove drive belt (1) from the air conditioner compressor pulley so that the belt is now slack.
Rotate the air conditioner compressor out of the way. Temporarily tighten the mounting bolt for the air conditioner compressor.

Remove bolts (4) and (5) for the fan guard that are located on the left side of the engine compartment.

Loosen alternator mounting bolt (7).
Loosen adjusting bolt (6) for the alternator enough to push the alternator against the engine. Temporarily tighten the mounting bolt for the alternator.

Remove bolts (8) and (10) for the fan guard that are located on the right side of the engine compartment.
Remove lower fan guard (11) and then remove upper fan guard (9) .

Use an 8 mm socket in order to remove six screws (12) and the cover from fan (14) .
Use a 13 mm socket in order to remove four bolts (15), the fan and spacer (13) .Installation Procedure

Place spacer (13) and fan (14) in position on the engine. Use a 13 mm socket in order to install four bolts (15) that secure the fan and the spacer in place.
Place the cover in position on the fan. Use an 8 mm socket in order to install six screws (12) that secure the cover to the fan.

Install upper fan guard (9) and then install lower fan guard (11) .
Install bolts (8) and (10) for the fan guard that are located on the right side of the engine compartment.Note: Do not tighten the bolts for the fan guard at this time.

Loosen adjusting bolt (6) for the alternator. Pull the alternator away from the engine to the original position. Adjust the alternator belt to the proper tension and tighten alternator mounting bolt (7). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7479, "V-Belts - Inspect/Adjust/Replace".

Install bolts (4) and (5) for the fan guard that are located on the left side of the engine compartment.Note: Tighten all of the bolts for the fan guards at this time.

Loosen mounting bolt (2) for the air conditioner compressor. Rotate the air conditioner compressor to the proper position.
Position drive belt (1) on the air conditioner compressor pulley.
Install adjusting mechanism (3) for the air conditioner compressor.
Adjust the drive belt for the air conditioner compressor to the proper tension. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7479, "V-Belts - Inspect/Adjust/Replace" for the correct procedure.
