( 1) Pressure tap
Install tooling (A) with pressure tap in the boom head-end circuit.
Attach tooling (B2) to pressure tap (1). Refer to Illustration 6.
Using tooling (A), increase and record the pressure on tooling (B).
To adjust the line relief, loosen the locknut and turn the adjustment screw until the pressure is within specification at pressure tap (1).Note: Turn the adjustment screw clockwise to increase the pressure setting. Turn the adjustment screw counterclockwise to decrease the pressure setting. Each full turn of the adjustment screw will result in approximately 8000 kPa (1160 psi) change.
Tighten the locknut on the line relief valve.Boom Lowering Control Valve Adjustment Procedure (If Equipped)
For machines with a Boom Lowering Control Valve, both the main valve line relief and BLCV line relief must be adjusted to the same pressure. The maximum allowable relief pressure setting for machines equipped with a Boom Lowering Control Valve is 35000 kPa (5076 psi).

Illustration 8 g06173553
Position the machine on level ground, lower the boom, and stop the engine.
Release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "System Pressure - Release".

Install tooling (A) with pressure tap in the boom head-end circuit.
Attach tooling (B2) to pressure tap (1). Refer to Illustration 9.
Each full turn of the adjustment screw will result in approximately 16700 kPa (2422 psi) change.
Tighten the locknut on the line relief valve.
