Remove the swivel. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Swivel - Remove".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

Install the swivel on Tooling (A), as shown.
Remove bolts (1) and cover (2) from outside housing (8) .
Remove seal (7) from outside housing (8). Remove bolts (4) and retainer (5) from the end of rotor (9) .
Use Tooling (B) to separate outside housing (8) from rotor (9). The weight of outside housing (8) is approximately 60 kg (133 lb). The weight of rotor (9) is 64 kg (142 lb).
Remove five seals (3) from outside housing (8) .
Remove three seals (6) from outside housing (8) .
