(1) Torque for nut ... 14 4 N m (10 3 lb ft)(2) Torque nut to where 20 2 N (4.5 .4 lb) of force is required to move lever (4).(3) Torque for jam nuts ... 5.0 0.5 N m (45 5 lb in)(9) Hand tighten nut against weld nut, then back nut off one-quarter turn.Adjustment:
1. Put lever (4) in the full lower (forward) position.2. With sensor control group (7) rotated counterclockwise against its stop, adjust rod end (5) and rod (8) so bolt (6) in rod end (5) will line up with the bolt hole in sensor control (7). DO NOT TIGHTEN BOLT.3. Remove bolt (6). Turn rod end (5) counterclockwise (lengthen distance between rod ends) 3 1/2 turns.4. Torque jam nuts (3) on rod (8) to 5.0 0.5 N m (45 5 lb in). Keep the face of rod end (5) parallel to sensor control (7).5. Install washers on each side of rod end (5). Torque bolt (6) to sensor control (7). Bolt (6) is a METRIC fastener.Hitch Sensor Linkage Adjustment
The hitch sensor linkage can only be properly adjusted when the lever linkage has been properly adjusted FIRST.
1. Fully lower the hitch. Put control lever (4) in the full lower (forward) position. Recheck to be sure hitch and lever are in the full lower position. Linkage adjustment will not be correct if they are not.2. Place mode switch (10) in the "OPERATING" position. Turn the key switch to the ACC position.3. Find the four LED's in control module (21). The LED's are located in the control module, which is visible from the operators seat by lifting out the ashtray. Yellow LED (19) will be blinking a two flash pattern or be ON steady. If the LED is ON steady, go to Step 7. If the LED is blinking the two flash pattern, the hitch and lever are not synchronized (not in the correct relationship to each other) and need to be adjusted.4. Rotate sensor control group (11) back and forth through its full travel range. Find the point (place when rotating) where yellow LED (19) is ON steady and either green LED (18) or (20) is ON.5. Rotate sensor control group (11) slowly [left or right-depending if LED (18) or (20) is ON] until only yellow LED (19) is ON.6. Adjust rods (14), (15) and (16) so bolt (13) aligns with the bolt hole in plate (12). Assemble washers on each side of the rod end. Install bolt (13) through the assembly and plate (12). Tighten the nut.7. With yellow LED (19) ON steady, adjust rod (15) to increase the length of the linkage (distance between rod ends) until green LED (20) just comes (turns) ON.8. Torque four jam nuts (17) to 14 4 N m (10 3 lb ft). Quick Check To See If Adjustments Are CorrectStart the vehicle and raise the hitch. Once fully raised, fully lower the hitch. Look at control module (21).
