    Stopwatch     1    
Place the machine on level ground and stop the engine.
Install 9U-7400 Multitach on the lower carriage in order to check the drive shaft speed.
Attach a reflective tape to the drive shaft.
Start the engine.
Lower the left console.
Place the engine speed dial at the HIGH IDLE position.
Fully move the stick several times until the normal hydraulic oil temperature of 55° 5°C (131° 9°F) is reached.

Lower the stabilizer, the blade tip, and/or the implement in order to raise the front axle and the rear axle. This will allow the wheels to turn freely. All tires must be off the ground.
Place the machine in second gear. Place the engine speed dial at the HIGH IDLE position.
Depress the travel pedal for FORWARD travel. Allow the machine to operate in forward travel for one minute in order to stabilize the drive shaft speed.
Measure drive shaft speed.
Depress the travel pedal for REVERSE travel. Allow the machine to operate in reverse travel for one minute in order to stabilize the drive shaft speed.
Measure drive shaft speed.
If the drive shaft speed is not set to the proper specification, stop the engine. Refer to Table 2 for specifications for drive shaft speeds.

Check adjustment screw (A) and (B) on the travel motor. Refer to Illustration 2. Make sure that dimension (Y) is 9.2 mm (0.36 inch). Make sure that dimension (Z) is 18 mm (0.71 inch).
If the adjustment screws are not set properly, correct the adjustment before performing the following steps.
If an adjustment was necessary, repeat steps 4 through 13. If no adjustment was necessary, proceed to step 18.

Remove cap (1) and loosen the locknut (2) .

Turn adjustment screw (3) or (4) on the main control valve in order to set the proper drive shaft speed. Refer to Table 2.
