(14)Diesel Engine Crankcase - Change Oil and Filter Elements
1. Remove crankcase drain plug. 2. Open drain valve to drain oil. 3. Remove oil cooler drain plug. 4. Remove filter covers and used elements. 5. Check cover seals and install new ones if necessary. 6. Install new elements and covers. 7. Install oil cooler drain plug. 8. Close drain valve and install plug. 9. Fill crankcase, (refill capacity on page 39). 10. Check oil level. Should be in safe starting range on engine stopped side of gauge. 11. Start engine. Check oil level when oil is warm. 12. Add oil as required to FULL mark on engine running side of gauge.(15)Center Drive Shaft Spline
Lubricate 1 fitting.(16)Front Drive Shaft Spline
Lubricate 1 fitting.(17)Alternator Belt
1. Check condition of belt. 2. Check adjustment. Correct adjustment allows 9/16to 13/16 inch (14,2 to 20,5 mm) deflection. To adjust belt: 1. Loosen locknut. 2. Turn adjusting nut to obtain correct deflection. 3. Tighten locknut.(18)Air Conditioner Freon Pump Belts
1. Check condition of belts. 2. Check adjustment. Should be 9/16 to 13/16 inch (14 to 20 mm) To adjust belts: 1. Loosen mounting bolts. 2. Loosen locknut. 3. Turn adjusting screw to obtain correct deflections.Tighten mounting bolts and locknut.
