Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

Install valve assembly (38) to valve body (6) . Install swivel adapter (37) and tighten retaining nut (36) to valve body (6) . Install plug (35) to valve body (6) .

Prior to installation, lubricate seat assembly (34) and ball (33) lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed. Install seat assembly (34) and ball (33) to valve body (6) .

Install plug (32) , plug (31) and plug assembly (30) to valve body (6) .

Install stop (29) to valve body (6) .

Install washer (28) , retainer (27) , washer (26) , retainer (25) , spring (24) , spring (23) , washer (22) , retainer (21) , washer (20) and bolt (19) to spool valve (11) .

Install three shims (18) to valve (17) .

Install valve (17) to valve body (6) .

Install spool valve (11) and two springs (16) to valve body (6) .

Use Tool (A) to install lip seal (15) and install O-ring seal (14) to cover (13) .

Install cover (13) and two bolts (12) to valve body (6) . Install rubber sleeve (10) and bolt (9) to spool valve (11) .

Install valve seat (8) and six O-ring seals (7) to cover (4) .

Install cover (4) and four bolts (5) to valve body (6) .

Install valve (3) , spring (2) and retainer (1) to cover (4) . Torque the retainer to 18 2 N m (13 1 lb ft) .End By: Install the steering control valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Control Valve - Install". The information is in this manual.
