Removal Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.

Raise hood (1) by activating switch (2). Turn off batter disconnect switch (3) after hood (1) has been raised.

Remove bolts (4) and reposition hose (5) out of the way.

Attach suitable lifting device to muffler (6). The weight of muffler (6) is approximately 75 kg (165 lb). Remove bolts (7).

Loosen clamp (9) and remove muffler (6).Installation Procedure

A — Loctite Exhaust Pipe Sealant 1
Install muffler (6) in the reverse order of removal.
Apply Tooling (A) to the inner diameter of the muffler and outer diameter of the pipe end.
Tighten clamp (9) to a torque of 68 12 N m (50 9 lb ft).
