Information:

Use of the 1U8756 Alignment Tool Assembly in its assembled position on the converter.Due to clearance required for the bolts that fasten both plates to the torque converter, it is often difficult to align the outer row of bolt holes in the large plate with those in the flywheel. Therefore, a 1U8756 Alignment Tool Assembly is available to make the outer row of holes for the flywheel concentric with the torque converter. This tool has a pilot hole which fits around the converter pilot, thus allowing the outer plate holes to be concentric with the centerline of the converter pilot. See illustration.
When the drive plates are correctly aligned, less time is required to bolt the unit to the flywheel and a more reliable bolted joint is obtained.
