The correct subtitle is "3408 and 3412 Vehicular Engines (Except those In D8L and D9L Tractors); 3408 and 3412 Industrial And Generator Set Engines; 3408 Truck Engines".--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------Description of Change: New exhaust tubes, a new support and new washers are used in the air lines groups on the above engines. The new tubes have a better surface finish, so they will seal better. They also have an added radius, which decreases stresses, at the flanged end. The new support is thicker and has a rib design for extra strength. The new washers are used for the installation of the new support. These new parts will decrease exhaust leaks and give a longer service life. A new shield assembly and bracket are also used in the manifold heat shield group on 3408 and 3412 Industrial and Generator Set Engines. The new shield assembly and bracket are necessary to provide clearance for the new tubes.
Adaptable As: The new parts are direct replacements for the former parts as shown in Chart A. The new parts are in effect with the serial numbers shown in Chart B.
