Press the up arrow on screed raise/lower switch (6) to lift the screed. Completely raise the screed.

Engage screed service lock mechanism (7) on both sides of the machine.

Use screed float switch (9) to place the screed in the FLOAT position. Allow the tow arms to rest on screed service locks (7) .
Press the down arrow on throttle control switch (10) once in order to place the engine speed in low idle.

Shut off the engine. Either place machine power switch (11) in the OFF position or press and hold push to start switch (8) for 3 seconds. An LED next to the push to start switch will flash when the engine is in shutdown mode.Note: The engine may run for several minutes when placed in the shutdown mode.
If the engine was shut down using the push to start switch (8), move machine power switch (11) to the OFF position.

Unhook latch (12) and open compartment (13) on the right side of the machine.

Remove elbow (15) from port "X" in front wheel assist pump (14) .
Use Tool (C) to cap elbow (15) .
Install Tool (B) in port "X".
Connect Tool (A2) to Tool (B) .Test Procedure
Move machine power switch (11) to the ON position.
When the LED next to push to start switch (8) is illuminated, press the push to start switch. Release the push to start switch when the engine starts.
Operate the engine at low idle for a few minutes.
Press the up arrow on throttle control switch (10) in order to place the engine in high idle. The engine speed should increase to 2200 rpm.

Monitor the hydraulic oil temperature on operator display (16). Operate the machine until the oil temperature reaches 43 5.6 °C (110 10 °F).

Press front wheel assist switch (18) to the ON position. When the front wheel assist system is activated, an LED next to the front wheel assist switch will illuminate.
Rotate front wheel assist dial (17) to obtain 25 percent front wheel assist effort. Verify the percentage on display (16) .
Press parking brake switch (5) in order to change the status of the parking brake to "disengaged".

Squeeze trigger (19), and move propel lever (4) to the FULL FORWARD position.Note: The machine will move. Make sure that the area around the machine is clear of personnel and clear of obstructions.

Slowly rotate the propel speed dial (20) until the machine just starts to move.
Have the assistant observe pressure at port "X" in the front wheel assist pump as the operator slowly rotates front wheel assist dial (17). The pressure should steadily increase as the dial is rotated up to 100 percent front wheel assist effort. When 100 percent front wheel assist effort is reached, the pressure should be 21000 700 kPa (3045 101 psi).
Move propel lever (4) to the NEUTRAL position.
Press front wheel assist switch (18) to the OFF position.
Rotate front wheel assist dial (17) to the MINIMUM position.
