1. Remove panel assembly (1) from the left hand side of machine. 2. Put marks of identification for position location on exhaust manifold clamps for assembly reference. Loosen clamp (2) on elbow and manifold.3. Remove nuts, washers and spacers (3) from manifold studs. Remove manifold assembly (4) and gaskets. 4. Remove panel assembly (5) from the right hand side of machine. 5. Remove tube assemblies (7) from the valve cover and the cylinder block. Loosen clamp (8) that fastens elbow to manifold.6. Remove nuts, washers and spacers (6) from the manifold studs. Remove manifold assembly (9) and gaskets.7. Remove manifold studs if necessary.Install Exhaust Manifold
Typical Example1. Put 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on the threads of the studs (1). Tighten studs to a torque of 27 4 N m (20 3 lb.ft.).2. Put new gaskets (2) in position on the cylinder heads.3. Install exhaust manifolds (3) as a unit. Install the spacers, washers and nuts to hold the exhaust manifolds in position. Tighten the nuts to a torque of 52 7 N m (38 5 lb.ft.). 4. Fasten clamps (4) and (5) that fasten elbows to the exhaust manifolds. See the flywheel housing story for the exhaust clamp angle position.5. Install tube assemblies (6) from the valve covers to the cylinder block. 6. Install left hand panel (7) and right hand panel (8) on the machine.
