Install O-ring seals (7) in torque converter housing (1).

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to pump drive (4). Position pump drive (4). Install bolts (5) and (6) to a torque of 100 20 N m (74 14 lb ft).

Position shield assembly (3). Install bolts (2) to a torque of 28 7 N m (20 5 lb ft).

Tighten bolts (8) to a torque of 100 20 N m (73 14 lb ft). Tighten bolt (9) to the torque of 55 10 N m (40 8 lb ft).
Measure the rolling torque that is required for bearing (10). If the torque exceeds 8 N m (71 lb in), disassemble the unit. Then assemble and retest the components.

Use Tooling (C) in order to tighten nut (11). Tighten nut (11) until the rolling torque for bearing (12) is 9.2 0.5 N m (81.0 4.4 lb in).
Secure nut (11) with lock (13).
Ensure that bearing (10) and bearing (12) rotate freely. End By:
Install the torque converter housing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, " Torque Converter Housing - Install".
