Information:
Service Brake Pedal
Push down the service brake pedal to stop or to slow the machine. If overspeed or loss of control is imminent, pull down secondary brake lever while still applying service brake or retarder. The braking is additive when done with normal air pressure. The retarder cannot be used as a parking brake. It is used in preference to the service brakes on long downhill retarding since the lever offers finer brake control than the service brake pedal.Retarder
Pull the retarder lever down to apply the brakes. The control lever position determines the amount of braking. The further down the control is pulled, the greater the braking effort.Parking and Secondary Brake
Parking Brake - Move lever (1) up away from operator, to release the parking brake. Move the lever down towards the operator to engage the parking brake.
Secondary Brake (Red Lever) - If service brake air pressure is lost, pull lever (2) down and hold to apply the secondary brake. Release the secondary brake lever. It will return to the OFF position. Hold the lever down until the machine stops.Accelerator
The accelerator pedal controls the fuel flow to the engine. The further the pedal is pushed to the floor, the higher the rpm.Engine Shutdown Handle (Normal shutdown is with key start switch)
Pull the handle out, to stop the engine. After the engine stops, push the handle in. Use in emergency situations only. The engine shutdown lever does not shut off the machine's electrical system.Discharge the steering system pressure from the steering accumulators, before doing any work on the machine.Turn the engine start switch and the disconnect switch off. Remove the keys.Turn the steering wheel right and left as far as possible in both directions, until the machine front wheels will not move. This discharges the pressure in the steering accumulators. See topic, "To Remove Steering System Pressure" in the "Safety" section of this guide.Transmission Selector Lever
The transmission selector lever controls the forward, neutral or reverse transmission speeds. Shift into REVERSE only with the machine stopped. Always start with shift lever in NEUTRAL.Tilt Steering
Pull the knob out and move the steering console back to the position desired. The console has five adjustable positions and is spring loaded to return forward when the knob is pulled out.
