Dear Cat Product Owner:
The 3702561 Plate Assembly needs to be inspected and possibly replaced on the products listed below. The existing Plate Assembly may fail, failure is seen as the lug breaking away from the Plate Assembly. If failure occurs machine may steer with steer lockout handle in locked position. Failure may, in conjunction with other factors or circumstances, result in a risk of personal injury or death. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Cat dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.

Rework Procedure
Procedure to rework Control Gp ? Steering
Refer to the Service Manual if/as required.
1. Remove cover identified in Image 1.1.1

2. Visually identify the 370-2561 Plate As as shown in Image 1.2.1

3. If the 370-2561 Plate As is painted BLACK no further action is required. Replace cover removed in Step 1.
4. If 370-2561 Plate As is painted YELLOW remove and replace Plate As as per following instructions.
5. Remove Steering Control Joystick covers as shown in Image 1.3.1

6. Loosen Pilot Control valve mounting bolts shown in Image 1.4.1

7. Remove the mounting bolts and remove the 370-2561 Plate As shown in Image 1.2.1
8. Obtain 1 x 145-8951 Plate As and remove material to obtain dimension shown in Image 1.5.1.

9. Fit modified Plate As to Steering Control Gp, when fitting plate ensure that locating strip on plate is centralized in the groove in the lockout lever assembly as shown in Image 1.6.1

10. Move Steering control lockout lever through it?s full range of motion to ensure that no parts are interfering and also ensure that when the Steering control lockout lever is in the Locked position the Steering Control Joystick cannot be moved to the left or right steering position.
11. Tighten Steering Pilot Control valve mounting bolts that were loosened in Step 6.
12. Replace Steering Control Joystick covers removed in Step 5.
13. Replace cover removed in Step 1.
