Remove the support. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly , "Support (Precleaner, Air Cleaner) - Remove and Install ". Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses, and tubes. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Open the hood.

Remove bolts (1). Remove guard assembly (2).

Remove belt (4). Remove bolts (3). Remove bracket assembly (5).

Remove bolts (6) and reposition air conditioning compressor (7). Disconnect harness assembly (8) and wire (9).

Remove bolts (10).
Install Tooling (A). Remove bolts (12). Remove alternator (11). Installation Procedure

Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Position alternator (11) onto Tooling (A). Install bolts (12).
Remove Tooling (A) and install bolts (10).

Connect harness assembly (8) and wire (9). Position air conditioning compressor (7) and install bolts (6).

Install bracket assembly (5). Install bolts (3). Install belt (4).

Position guard assembly (2) and install bolts (1).
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.
Close the hood. End By:
Install the support. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly , "Support (Precleaner, Air Cleaner) - Remove and Install ".
