Oil under high pressure can cause injury. To prevent injury do not disconnect any oil lines or remove the line relief and make-up valves until all oil pressure in the main system has been released.
There are five line relief and make-up valves in the front three stem valve and four in the rear three stem valve. The line relief and make-up valves are for the right track forward, right track reverse, boom lower, shear close and shear open in the front three stem valve. The line relief and make-up valves are for the left track forward, left track reverse, arm open and close in the rear three stem valve. The removal and installation of only one line relief and make-up valve is shown. 1. Remove plug (1) from the valve body. 2. Remove spring (7), seat (8), valve (6), spring (4), shims (5), valve (3) and cartridge (2) from the valve body.3. Remove the O-ring seals from seat (8) and plug (1).4. Install cartridge (2) in the valve body.5. Install shims (5), spring (4) and valve (6) in valve (3). Put a new O-ring seal on seat (8) then install seat (8) in valve (3). 6. Install valve assembly (3) in the valve body along with spring (7).7. Put a new O-ring seal on plug (1) and install the plug in the valve body.8. Check the adjustment of the line relief valve.
