Open the fuel supply valve. Ensure that the engine will not start during the priming procedure. Turn the start switch to the OFF position.

(1) Fuel priming pump plunger
Turn fuel priming pump plunger (1) counterclockwise to release the lock plate from the retainer.
Operate the fuel priming pump until the air in the fuel system has been pumped through the fuel return line back to the fuel tank.
Press the fuel priming pump plunger to the locking position. Turn the fuel priming pump plunger clockwise to engage the lock plate in the retainer.Note: Enable the starting system only after all maintenance has been completed.
