Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Cat Dealer Service Tool Catalog" or refer to Special Publication, PECJ0003, "Cat Shop Supplies and Tools Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Typical Well Stimulation Pump Oil Filter
(1) Oil filter housing
(2) Oil filter element
(3) Oil filter base
Place a suitable container under the oil filters.
Remove the oil filter housing (1) by loosening the housing with a suitable wrench at the bottom of the housing. A strap type wrench may also be used. Clean the housing with an appropriate non-flammable cleaner
Remove the oil filter element (2). Dispose the used filter element according to local regulations.
Inspect all oil seals. Replace as required. If new oil filter elements are supplied with oil seals, replace old seals with the new seals.
Wash the filter housing in clean non-flammable solvent. Dry the housing thoroughly.
Clean the oil filter mounting base. Make sure that none of the material from the used oil seals remain inside the filter mounting base.
Position the oil filter element on the filter base (3) and begin to tighten the housing by hand. Continue to tighten the housing with a wrench until the housing contacts the base and rotation stops. Do not overtighten.
After rotation of the oil filter housing has stopped when being tightened with a wrench, loosen the filter housing 1/4 turn.
Oil filter element replacement is now complete.
