Remove the swing motor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Swing Motor - Remove". Note: SERVICE DATA: TOOLING (ZZ) WILL NOT BE IDENTIFIED IN PHOTOGRAPHS IN THE REMOVAL OR THE INSTALLATION. THIS TOOLING IS SHOWN IN ORDER TO ASSIST THE EXPERIENCED SERVICEMAN.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Thoroughly clean the area around the swing drive prior to removal.
Put identification marks on the swing drive in order to mark the drive's location for assembly purposes.

Remove bolts (1). Disconnect hose assembly (2).

Install Tooling (C). Attach Tooling (A), Tooling (B), and a suitable lifting device onto swing drive (3). The weight of swing drive (3) is approximately 89 kg (196 lb). Use Tooling (C) in order to separate swing drive (3) from the frame. Remove swing drive (3). Be careful not to lose the locating pins after you remove swing drive (3).
