INSTALLATION: To change the location of the 2G413 Resistor, and/or install the parts sent for replacement of the canceled bracket, use the procedure that follows:
1. Drill one hole in the top plate of the heater housing assembly as shown.
Location of drilled hole in top plate of heater housing assembly.2. Remove the resistor from the former 4V3675 Bracket, and install it on the new 8V5949 Bracket Assembly with two 7K6536 Rivets.3. Remove the former harness assemblies and discard (destroy) the shorter 4V8776 Harness Assembly, which is not needed. The longer 4V8777 Harness Assembly can be changed to use in place of the new 8V5951 Harness Assembly if it is in good condition, or the new assembly can be installed if desired. To change the former harness: a. Measure 640 mm (25.2") from the 5P4571 Terminals (blade-type), and cut off the end that has the bullet connectors.b. Remove the outside cover to a distance of 50 mm (2.0") from the cut end. The remainder of the outside cover will have a total length of 540 mm (21.3"), with the separate wires extended 50 mm (2.0") from each end.c. Remove the necessary insulation from each wire at the cut end, and install two new 5P4571 Terminals.4. Install the two 7N8419 Blade Terminals on the outer connections (No. 1 and No. 3) of the toggle switch.5. Connect the gray wire of the harness assembly to the upper terminal of the toggle switch, and the dark blue wire to the lower terminal.6. Connect the other end of the gray wire to one blade of the double-blade terminal on the 2G413 Resistor, and the other end of the dark blue wire to the single-blade terminal on the resistor. The wire to the heater fan motor is connected to the second blade of the double-blade terminal on the resistor.7. Install the resistor and bracket assembly under the top plate of the heater housing assembly as shown, with the new S509 Bolt and 5P1075 Washer in the hole drilled in Step 1.
