(4) Transmitter (typical example)
(5) BatteryThe remote control system is made up of the following components, receiver (1), interface control module (2), steering, and bucket control valve (3), transmitter (4) and the machine electrical and hydraulic components.Transmitter (4) is used by the operator to control machine functions by remote control. Transmitter (4) sends radio signals to receiver (1).Transmitter (4) is powered by battery (5). All other components in the remote control system are powered by the machine electrical system.

(1) ReceiverReceiver (1) is located above the hydraulic tank.Receiver (1) interprets the radio signals from transmitter (4). Receiver (1) sends an electrical signal for on/off functions or a Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) electrical signal for proportional functions to interface control module (2).

Illustration 5 g01077762
(2) Interface control module (cover removed)Interface control module (2) is located in the transmission compartment.Interface control module (2) contains a relay for each remote control on/off function. Interface control module (2) has two types of outputs, electrical signals and PWM electrical signals.Electrical signals for on/off functions from receiver (1) energize a relay for each remote control function. The relay will switch the power or ground to the corresponding machine electrical circuits. The PWM electrical signals for proportional functions are sent directly to the solenoid valves mounted on steering and bucket control valve (3). Also the PWM electrical signal is sent to the Engine Electronic Control Module (ECM) for the throttle control.

(3) Steering and bucket control valve
(6) Directional control valve
(7) Solenoid control valvesSteering and bucket control valve (3) is located beside the operator station door in the articulation hitch area of the machine.Steering and bucket control valve (3) contains four solenoid control valves (7) and directional control valve (6). Directional control valve (6) controls the machine steering functions. Solenoid control valves (7) control the machine bucket functions. The two solenoids on directional control valve (6) and the four solenoid control valves (7) operate proportionally.

(8) Remote control indicator light (white)
(9) Remote control parking brake indicator light (amber)Remote control indicator light (8) and remote control parking brake indicator light (9) are mounted on the rear of the operator station.Remote control indicator light (8) will be on whenever the key start switch and the remote control switch in the operator station, are in the ON position. indicating that the machine is ready to be operated by remote control.Remote control parking brake indicator light (9) will be on when the parking brake is engaged with the machine operating by remote control. When the parking brake is disengaged at transmitter (4), the light will go out.
