This new tachometer uses a DT connector instead of screw terminal for electrical connections. The tachometer includes a backlight. The use of the backlight is optional.Adaptable To: The new 197-7347 Tachometer replaces the former 9X-1114 Electronic Tachometer. When a former 9X-1114 Electronic Tachometer is replaced by the new 197-7347 Tachometer, the components that follow are also required:

If a new 197-7347 Tachometer or a new 197-7348 Tachometer Gp is installed, the new tachometer must be programmed for 3600 Engine applications.

This illustration shows the location of the plug (1) that is on the back side of a new 197-7347 Tachometer or a new 197-7348 Tachometer Gp .Use the procedure that follows to program the tachometer:
Remove the plug (1) from the back of the tachometer.
Rotate the calibration adjustment to position A. Position A programs the control for 255 pulses per revolution. This is the position that is used to monitor RPM in all 3600 Engine applications.
Install the plug (1) on the back of the tachometer.
