PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
Refer to the Service Manual if/as necessary.
1. Download the new software (part number 305-3440) from SIS. Use Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) to begin flashing the new software to the scraper engine ECM.
For Group 1 machines, proceed to Step 8.
For Group 2 machines, proceed to the next step while the software is being installed.
2. Disconnect the ether line from the atomizer assembly and the ether control valve.
3. Remove the 251-4345 Atomizer Assembly. This part will not be reused.

4. Install a new 303-9422 Atomizer Assembly in the orientation shown in Image 1.2.1.
5. Remove the 241-4194 Control Fitting. This part will not be reused.
6. Install a new 276-5436 Control Fitting.
7. Before reconnecting the ether line to the new atomizer and control fittings, readjust the ether line routing. Confirm that it is free of kinks, loops, or rubs. Remove excess line length as necessary.
8. Confirm scraper engine software flash file update was completed successfully.
9. Use Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) to select the scraper engine configuration screen in order to set the "Ether Solenoid Configuration" parameter. Set the "Ether Solenoid Configuration" parameter to "Continuous Flow Solenoid" (02).
10. Check for proper machine operation.
