Engine News SEBD9599, July 2009, "Changes to the Gasket for the Engine Oil Filter Base on Some C11 and C13 Engines". Disregard this article. Refer to the article that follows.Description of Change: The gaskets that are used on engine oil filter bases that may have a single engine oil filter or dual engine oil filters have changed. Features for bolt retention have been added to the gasket in order to aid proper assembly. Also, a tab with the gasket's part number has been added to the latest version of the gasket. The gasket has a black tab with the white part number or a white tab with a black part number. The new tab with the part number is clearly visible when the gasket is installed.Adaptable To: The gasket is adaptable back to the first production of the above engines. If there is a leak at the engine oil filter base, install one of the gaskets that are listed in Table 1.
