Printable template. Cut the printed template in half at cut line and connect the two pieces together. Measure to confirm that the template matches the dimensions in Illustration 2.

Print the template in Illustration 3 to mark the area to be removed. The grid lines on the template should be in 10 mm (0.39 inch) increments.
Cut the printed template in half and connect the two pieces together. Measure to confirm that the template matches the dimensions in Illustration 2.

Position the template with line (A) on the edge of the lift hook. Refer to Illustration 4.
Use a center punch to mark the template on the lifting eye bracket base plate.

Cover the hydraulic tank and cab glass with fire-resistant blankets to prevent damage to the paint and glass surrounding the area. Place scrap metal under the area being cut to catch slag.

Add the large 45° chamfer with a torch. Ensure that the cut does not protrude into the adjacent weld bead.

After removing all the material with the torch, grind all the surfaces smooth.
