HYDRAULIC AR-4 VALVE 1049643 - Caterpillar

1. Remove tube assembly (1) from the manifold and neutralizer valve.2. Remove tube assembly (3).3. Remove the cotter pin and pin (5) from the valve stem in the neutralizer valve and the rod end.4. Remove three bolts (2). Remove neutralizer valve (4). 5. Remove bolts (6) and cover (7) from the valve body. Check the condition of the O-ring seals in the cover. If the seals have damage, use new parts for replacement. 6. Remove spring (8) from the valve body.7. Remove spacer (10), shims (9), retainer (13), spring (12) and retainer (11) from the valve body. 8. Remove valve stem (14) and valve stem (15) from the valve body.9. Remove the nut and retainer from valve stem (14). 10. Remove seal (16) from the valve body.Assemble Transmission Neutralizer Control Valve
1. Make sure all of the parts of the neutralizer valve are clean and free of dirt and foreign material before it is assembled. Put clean hydraulic oil on all of the parts of the valve. 2. Install the lip type seal in the valve body with tooling (A). Install the seal until it makes contact with the counterbore in the body and with the lip of the seal toward the inside of the body. 3. Install retainer (2) on stem (1) as shown. Install the nut that holds it. Tighten the nut to a torque of 35 3 lb ft (47 4 N ).4. Install valve stem (1) and spring (3) in the valve body.5. Install valve stem (5), retainer (6), spring (7) and retainer (8) in the valve body.6. Install spacer (10) and shims (9) in cover (4). Install cover (4) on the valve body. 7. Put neutralizer valve (11) on the plate. Install the bolts that hold it. Connect the valve stem to the rod end.8. Install the tube assembly from the manifold to the brake pressure port on the neutralizer valve.9.
