Remove Aftercooler Core
start by: a) remove instrument panel1. Remove coolant from the engine.
MARINE ENGINE
INDUSTRIAL ENGINE2. Remove bolts (1), nuts (5) and cover (6) that connect air inlet pipe (2) to the aftercooler cover.3. Put a mark on the turbocharger compressor housing (7) in alignment with a mark on the turbocharger cartridge housing (8).
MARINE ENGINE
INDUSTRIAL ENGINE4. Loosen the nut on "V" clamp (9). Loosen the screw on clamp (10).5. Carefully turn the air inlet pipe so the air inlet pipe (2) is away from the aftercooler cover.6. Remove the bolts (4) that hold the aftercooler cover (3) to the aftercooler housing. Remove the aftercooler cover.
MARINE ENGINE7. Remove pipe (14), coupling (12), elbow (11) and adapter (13) as a unit.
INDUSTRIAL ENGINE
MARINE ENGINE8. Remove the two clips that hold the water inlet pipe (18) to the timing gear cover.9. Disconnect line (19) (if so equipped).10. Remove bolts (15). Move elbow (17) and adapter (16) away from the aftercooler housing.
INDUSTRIAL ENGINE11. Remove the aftercooler core from the aftercooler housing.
