14 1 363-8820 Shim Use only one shim total, when possible. To obtain shim thickness to be used, assembly brake to spindle ensuring brake is fully seated against the spindle spline shoulder. Assemble ring-retaining to spindle. Use feeler gauges to measure the clearance between the brake housing and the ring-retaining. Choose the shim part number with the thickness closest to the measured clearance. Round up when possible but do not use excessive force to install.
