Pre-Calibration Checklist
Perform all implement system calibrations including lever, sensor, and linkage calibrations.Warm up machine including hydraulic system and linkage & pin grease.Best Practices For Selecting Calibration Material and Weighing On External (Site) Scales
Option One (Preferred)
Run Full Calibration with on-site material.Use suggested calibration weight.
Perform bucket zero.
Perform simple calibration with four or five trucks to fine-tune calibration.Reference: "Option One Example"Option Two
Run Full Calibration with on-site material.Weigh loader empty and loaded using site scales.
Enter measured bucket payload as the calibration weight.
Perform bucket zero.
Perform simple calibration with four or five trucks to fine-tune calibration.Option Three
If no site scales are available:
Perform full calibration with known calibration weight and use known weight as calibration weight.Note: Option three could be less accurate due to differences in how a known weight and on-site material will fill the bucket.Option One Example
Run full calibration.
Go To Service > Service Mode.
Enter password to enable service mode in the display.
Go To Service > Calibrations > Payload.
Perform Empty Bucket Weight calibration with a clean, empty bucket.
Perform Full Bucket Weight calibration with on-site material.

Calibration weight entry screen
Enter suggested calibration weight as a calibration weight.
Go to Service > Calibrations > Payload > Calibration Weight.Press the “Arrow” button to adjust the weight.
Enter the suggested weight listed under "Estimated Cal Weight" into the number pad.
Press OK.
Perform bucket zero and simple calibration on four or five trucks. See section “Simple Calibration” for detailed procedure.
Weigh an empty truck (tare weight) with on-site scales.
Perform Bucket Zero.
Fully load the truck with on-site material with the payload system active.
Press the store button when truck is fully loaded.
Weigh the loaded truck with on-site scales and record scale weight.
Repeat Steps 3.a through 3.e four more times.Note: Simple calibration can be performed using 1 to 15 trucks. The more trucks used, the better the calibration will be fine-tuned. The recommended number of trucks for most applications is 5.
Go to Payload > Settings.
Select Simple Calibration.
Select each truck from the list and correct the Cat Production Measurement weigh with the scale weight.Note: A new simple calibration erases all prior simple calibrations. Only the latest simple calibration on one or more trucks is used to fine-tune the scale system.
