1. Tighten the air compressor shaft nut to 135 N m (100 lb ft).
2. Again, tighten the air compressor shaft nut until the slots on the air compressor shaft nut align with hole in the shaft.
3. Insert the cotter pin into the hole that is in the shaft.
4. Bend the end of the cotter pin.
