Read the instructions from the supplier and understand the instructions from the supplier. Provide fresh air circulation to the welding helmet in order to avoid any illnesses that can be caused by long term exposure to the welding fumes. The fresh air circulation will also remove any exhaled carbon dioxide that may be trapped by the welding helmet. Use the following protection when you prepare the surfaces and when you weld on the surfaces: eye protection, ear protection and body protection. Use a welding helmet with a filter plate that is at least shade 11. Welding helmets that automatically darken will eliminate the neck strain that is caused by the welding helmet flipping while greatly increasing the accuracy of electrode placement. Before you cut on the bucket or on the weld of the bucket, the temperature of the bucket should be at least 24 °C (75 °F) to 38 °C (100 °F). Do not weld on surfaces that are exposed to fans. Do not weld on surfaces of the bucket that are exposed to natural cool winds. Do not lay the bucket directly on the ground. Do not lay the base edge directly on the ground. An oxyacetylene torch or an air carbon arc torch may be used to cut an adapter away from the base edge. The air carbon arc torch creates less heat input. This reduces the tendency for any cracks that may be in the base edge to propagate, or the bucket seams to tear. The gouged area is also much cleaner after using an air carbon arc torch.
If attached to the bucket, draw a line on the side router plates marking the bottom edge of the side cutter. Remove the side cutters before proceeding with the bucket modifications. Refer to Illustration 1.
Remove the adapter welds by air arc gouging. Refer to Illustration 1.

Smooth the gouged surfaces of the base edge with a disc grinder.
Make a template of 119-3205 Strap Adapter . Refer to Illustration 2. Check the drawing for the proper size by measuring the 25.5 mm (1 inch) line above the drawing.
Place the template against the side of the bowl and the base edge. Refer to Illustration 3. Mark the side router plates and air arc the opening in order to accept the slightly larger "J200" adapters. Do not remove excessive material from the bottom of the router plates as an oversize gap that is more than 2 mm (0.079 inch) above the adapter strap could result in a weak joint. A new adapter can also be placed on the base edge next to the side router plate in order to mark the outline of the top strap.

Create a template that is the actual size of the 119-3205 Strap Adapter that is shown in Illustration 2 or use a new adapter.
Cut 5 mm (0.2 inch) bevels to the outside and to the front edge of the side router plates. Cut the bevels at 45° in order to improve the strength
