Set the pedal stop (5) to the minimum position.
Loosen the nuts (7) on the adjusting rod (8). Adjust the adjusting rod until the length (A) is 157 2 mm (6.2 0.08 inches). Adjust the rod length (A) by rotating the ends (6) of the adjusting rod.
Note the position of the governor arm (1) when the pedal (4) is fully depressed. Note the position of the governor arm when the pedal is not depressed.
Adjust the low idle position so the governor arm returns beyond the low idle position. The governor arm should rest on the overrun spring. Use the adjusting rod to set the low idle position. If the adjusting rod fails to provide enough adjustment, use the adjusting nuts (9) on the end of the cable (3) in the cab. The spring (2) should have a maximum of 1 mm (0.04 inches) of displacement.
When the pedal is fully depressed, the governor arm should overlap the spring stop 5 2 mm (0.2 0.08 inches). If the overrun is incorrect, adjust the pedal stop and repeat step 4.
Ensure that all nuts are tight. Start the engine. Control of the engine should be achieved within 7.5 2.5 mm (0.3 0.1 inches) of pedal travel.
