1. Remove bolts (1). Remove cover (2). 2. Disconnect wires (3) from the alternator. 3. Loosen two bolts (4) that hold the alternator to the bracket.4. Loosen belt tension adjustment nut (6).5. Push the alternator toward the crankshaft pulley and remove vee belt (5) from the alternator pulley. 6. Remove bolt (7) and two spacers from belt adjustment rod.7. Remove two bolts that hold the alternator to the bracket. Remove alternator (8).Install Alternator
1. Put alternator (2) in position. Install by hand the two bolts that hold it to the bracket.2. Install bolt (1) and two spacers that hold the adjustment rod in position. 3. Connect wires (3) to the alternator. 4. Install vee belt (4) on the alternator pulley. Make an adjustment to the belt tension with nut (5). Check the belt tension with a belt tension gauge such as a Borroughs Tool Company Part No. BT-33-72C or an equivalent. The correct gauge indication is 120 5.5. Tighten the bolts that hold the alternator to the bracket. 6. Put cover (6) in position. Install the bolts that hold it.
