1. Put oil pump (1) in position in the cylinder block. 2. Install two bolts (2) in the front bracket of the oil pump drive. Install bolt (3). Bolt (2) is a ground body bolt. 3. Install two bolts (4) in the rear bracket of the oil pump drive. Install bolt (5). Bolt (4) is a ground body bolt.4. Install the rear section of the oil pan.end by: a) install oil panb) install engineDisassemble Oil Pump Drive
start by: a) remove oil pump drive 1. Remove the cotter pin, nut and washer that hold gear (1) on the shaft.2. Remove gear (1) with tooling (A). 3. Remove the bearings from bracket (2) with tooling (B).4. Remove the cotter pin, nut and washer that hold gear (3) on the shaft. Remove the bracket from the gear. 5. Remove gear (3) with tooling (C). 6. Remove the bearings from bracket (4) with tooling (D).Assemble Oil Pump Drive
1. Put oil hole (2) in alignment with the oil hole in the bearing. Install the bearings in bracket (1) with tooling (A). Install the bearings until they are .016 in. (0.41 mm) below the outside surface of the bracket.2. Put the oil hole in the other bracket in alignment with the oil holes in the bearings. Install the bearings with tooling (B). Install the bearings until they are .016 in. (0.41 mm) below the outside surface of the bracket. 3. Heat gear (3) to a maximum temperature of 375°F (191°C) and install it on the shaft.4. Install bracket (4), washer (6), nut (7) and the cotter pin. Install the bracket on the gear with bolt hole (5) in the direction shown. 5. Install bracket (8) on the shaft with the bolt hole (1) in the direction shown.6. Heat gear (9) to a maximum temperature of 375°F (191°C) and install it on the shaft. 7. Install washer, nut (11) and the cotter pin that hold gear (9) on the shaft.end by: a) install oil pump drive
