Park the machine on a hard, level surface. Lower the scraper bowl to the ground and engage the parking brake. Chock the wheels to prevent the machine from moving.

Position Tooling (A) under transmission guard (3). Fasten Tooling (A) under transmission guard (3). The weight of transmission guard (3) is approximately 75 kg (165 lb).
Remove two bolts (1), the washers, and the nuts that secure transmission guard (3) to the transmission case. Repeat the procedure for the other side of the guard.
Remove three bolts (2) and the washers from the right side of transmission guard (3). Remove the two bolts and the washers from the left side of transmission guard (1).
Lower transmission guard (3) from the transmission case. Remove the transmission guard from the machine.

The crankcase guard was removed for photographic purposes.
Position Tooling (B) under guard assembly (5). The weight of guard assembly (5) is approximately 56 kg (123 lb). Remove six bolts (4) and the spacers that secure guard assembly (5) to the machine frame. Slowly lower guard assembly (5) from the machine.Installation Procedure
Install transmission guard (3) and guard assembly (5) in the reverse order of removal.
