2. Remove the bolts that hold timing gear cover (2) to the cylinder block.3. Remove spacers (1).4. Remove elbow (3). Remove bolts (5). Turn elbow (4) so the timing gear cover will clear the elbow as shown.5. Remove the timing gear cover.Install Timing Gear Cover
1. Put clean engine oil on the O-ring seal for fuel injection pump housing (3).2. Install a new gasket on the cylinder block. Cut the gasket even with the bottom of the cylinder block.3. Put timing gear cover (2) in position on the engine. Push cover (2) until it is tight against the cylinder block.4. Install spacers (1). Install the bolts that hold cover (2) to the cylinder block.5. Put elbow (5) in alignment with water line (6). Install the four bolts that hold elbow (5) to line (6).6. Install elbow (4).7.
