Swing cover (7) in place and install the bolts.

Remove Tooling (D) and Tooling (A) from the machine.

Install cover (6) to the underside to the machine.
Fill the hydraulic oil system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change".

Remove Tooling (C) .

Install right hand boom cylinder (5). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Boom Cylinder - Remove and Install".

Remove Tooling (B) from the stick assembly.
Start the engine. Rotate the upper structure in-line with the undercarriage.
Drain the oil from each final drive into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Final Drive Oil - Change".

Remove two bolts (1). Attach Tooling (E) in order to hold the planetary gear assembly from falling. Remove remaining bolts (1) from cover assembly (2) .

Use Tooling (H) to remove cover assembly (2). Make sure that the planetary assembly does not slide forward when cover assembly (2) is being removed. This will keep contamination out of the planetary gears.

The planetary gear group is being held onto the sprocket housing at this time only by Tooling (E ). The approximate weight of the planetary group is 163 kg (360 lb). Be careful not to allow the planetary gear group to slide forward.
Install ring gear (4) into cover assembly (2). Install bolts (3) .

Apply Tooling (F) onto cover assembly (2). Install cover assembly (2) onto the final drive. Install bolts (1). Remove Tooling (E). Install remaining bolts (1). Tighten the bolts (1) to a torque of 420 60 N m (309 44 lb ft) and turn an additional 60° 5 °. Fill final drive with oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Final Drive - Oil Change".End By: Install the grapple. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Grapple - Install".
