Information:
STOP (Type 1) - Turn the engine key switch to the STOP position and hold the engine key switch in that position for 1 second to override delayed engine shutdown (DES). The engine will be shut down immediately.Note: Shutting down the engine using this method is considered a hard shutdown which disables the DES.Note: A warning message and/or audible alarm will be initiated and a fault code will be logged for improper engine shutdown if exhaust temperature is above a limit.Note: Overriding delayed engine shutdown may reduce engine and machine system component life. Use for emergency situations only.
DELAYED ENGINE SHUTDOWN OVERRIDE (Type 2) - Turn the engine key switch to the DELAYED ENGINE SHUTDOWN OVERRIDE position and hold the engine key switch in that position for 1 second to override delayed engine shutdown (DES).
OFF (Type 1 and Type 2) - Inserting the key into the engine key switch and removing the key from the engine key switch must only be done from the OFF position. In the OFF position, there is no power to most electrical circuits in the cab. The engine may continue to run because the delayed engine shutdown feature is active. The cab lights, the panel lights, the tail lights, and the dome light are operational even when the start switch is in the OFF position.Note: Power will remain ON in the cab when the engine key switch is in the OFF position if both of the following conditions exist:
The transmission lockout switch is in the LOCK position.
The battery disconnect switch is in the ON position.Once maintenance is completed, turn the transmission lockout switch to the UNLOCK position. Failure to take this action could result in battery drainage if the battery disconnect switch is left in the ON position.
ON (Type 1 and Type 2) - Turn the engine key switch clockwise to ON in order to activate all cab circuits.
START (Type 1 and Type 2) - The transmission must be in the NEUTRAL position. Turn the engine key switch clockwise to START in order to crank the engine. Release the key after the engine starts. The engine key switch will return to the ON position.Interior Light Switch (56)
Interior Light Switch - Press the top of switch (55) in order to activate the interior lighting for the control panel area. Press the bottom of the switch in order to deactivate the interior light.Air Temperature Control Switch (57)
Air Conditioning - Press the top of switch (56) in order to turn on the air conditioner. Move the switch to the middle position in order to turn the heat ON.
