(7ZM, 9WM) Wheel Loaders;
IT14G (1WN, 8ZM) Integrated ToolcarriersThere is a new brake bleeding procedure for the 914G Wheel Loaders and IT14G Integrated Toolcarriers. This procedure can be performed in a bench vise or on the machine with master cylinder mounted to power assist section of the braking system. This new brake adjustment procedure is adaptable to all first production 914G and IT14G machines listed above. The new procedure is as follows:
Brake Bleeding Procedure
1. Clamp master cylinder in bench vise with attached reservoir or locate master cylinder and reservoir on machine.2. Remove master cylinder reservoir filler cap.3. Connect one end of a length of tubing to an outlet port and immerse the other end in the master cylinder reservoir below the fluid level. Only one outlet port can be open to the reservoir. The other ports (if applicable) must be blocked or connected to system lines. Keep fluid level in the reservoir within one half inch of the top of the reservoir.4. Actuate master cylinder piston (push pedal). Slowly stroke and release master cylinder piston 1 3/8 to 1 1/2 inches. Repeat until air bubbles in reservoir have ceased.5. Remove tubing. This should be done in a manner which will minimize fluid loss. If bleeding was done in a vise, the master cylinder should be attached to the power assist section and mounted on the machine before removing the tubing. 6. Connect all plumbing on machine. This step must be completed prior to proceeding to step (7).7. Bleed remaining air from system by depressing and holding brake pedal while opening bleeder fitting closest to master cylinder. Close bleeder fitting before brake pedal is released. Repeat until solid stream of oil comes out without any air.8. Continue to next bleeder port from master cylinder and repeat step (7). Repeat this step until all bleeder ports have been purged. In all cases the bleeder ports must be closed before the brake pedal is released to remove the passability of air being ingested into the system.9. Fill reservoir to within one half inch of the top and install filler cap assy.10. Check all fittings for tightness to avoid leakage.11. Actuate pedal several times. If brake pedal feels spongy, check for system leaks and repeat bleeding process. During entire process of brake bleeding, constantly monitor the level of fluid in the brake reservoir. It must be maintained at a high level.
