This Special Instruction describes the installation of the G3520C (50Hz) Control Upgrade for Stand-Alone EP Applications Kit. The G3520C (50Hz) Control Upgrade provides the hardware and software required for a continually modulating compressor bypass valve, which aids in improved steady state stability and load acceptance ability.Do not perform any of the following procedure or order parts until you have read and understand the procedure.Reference Guides

The control upgrade kit is not compatible with the 223-1179 Actuator . The compressor bypass valve and actuator must be updated to the 328-0753 Bypass Actuator and Mounting Gp with the 304-9398 Actuator .
The switchgear control gains must be retuned after the upgrade kit has been installed. The engine with the control upgrade kit installed is much more responsive and will require a system retune to operate correctly.
The Upgrade Control Kit requires a dedicated 0-5V load feedback signal to the ECM from a Wattmeter or PLC. The load feedback signal must utilize at least 75% of the 0.2-4.8 V signal range from 0-100% load and must have less than a 150 ms response time to load changes. The repeatability of the load feedback signal must be within 0.2% of the reading (over time and temperature). The load feedback signal must also be linear within 0.5% from 0-50% and within 0.2% from 50-100% load. Refer to Systems Operation, RENR5978 for more information for the speed and accuracy of the signal .The following are the recommended power transducers :
