INDICATOR-HEAT 2S1988 - Caterpillar

1. Open the hood assembly, and lock it in the "Open" position. 2. For the installation purposes, put identification marks on three wires (2) that are connected to the shutoff solenoid.3. Disconnect three wires (2) from shutoff solenoid (1). 4. Use Tool (A) to remove shutoff solenoid (1). 5. Remove O-ring seal (3) from shutoff solenoid (1). The following steps are for the installation of the shutoff solenoid.6. Check the condition of O-ring seal (3). If the seal is damaged, use a new part for replacement. Install the O-ring seal on the shutoff solenoid.
When using an offset spanner wrench such as Tool (A), the torque value must be recalculated to prevent over-tightening. Use the "Torque Computer", SEHS7150, to recalculate the torque value.
7. Install shutoff solenoid (1). Use Tool (A) to tighten the shutoff solenoid to a torque of 30 5 N m (22 4 lb ft). Connect three wires (2) to the shutoff solenoid in their original locations.
