Move the transmission direction switch to the NEUTRAL position.
The joysticks must be centered in the HOLD position.

The machine shutdown switch must be in the raised position in order to start the engine.

Vacuum pump control for the 564 and 574B Forwarders
Make sure that the switch for the vacuum pump (if equipped) is in the OFF position. The switch for the vacuum pump is located on left side of the machine near the fuel tank cap. If the switch is in the ON position, the engine will not start.
Turn the engine start switch to the ON position. This will activate the IQAN monitoring system.
After the system check is performed, turn the engine start switch to the START position. Release the key as soon as the engine starts. Do not allow the engine to run faster than 900 rpm for the first twenty seconds.
If the engine does not start, repeat step 6. Wait for twenty seconds and then repeat step 7. Do not attempt to start the engine if the starter motor is still turning.
Do not crank the engine for more than 30 seconds. Allow the starter to cool for two minutes before cranking again.Turbocharger and/or engine damage can occur if the engine speed is not kept low until the oil light/gauge verifies the oil pressure is sufficient.
