Information:

Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire. To help prevent possible injury, turn the start switch off when changing fuel filters or water separator elements. Clean up fuel spills immediately.
Ensure that the engine is stopped before any servicing or repair is performed.
Remove the Element
Turn the fuel supply valve (if equipped) to the OFF position before performing this maintenance.
Place a suitable container under the water separator in order to catch any fuel that might spill. Clean up any spilled fuel. Clean the outside body of the filter assembly.

Remove the filter bowl (4) from the fuel filter base (1).
Remove the O-ring seal (3). Discard the O-ring seal.
Remove the filter element (2) from the fuel filter base (1). Discard the filter element (2).
Clean the filter bowl (4). Install the Element

Install a new filter element (2) to the fuel filter base (1).
Lubricate the O ring seal (3) with clean engine oil. Do NOT fill the bowl with fuel before the assembly is installed.
Install the filter bowl (4) to the fuel filter base (1). Tighten the filter bowl (4) by hand.
The secondary fuel filter must be replaced at the same time as the primary fuel filter. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual , "Fuel System Secondary Filter - Replace".
