1. Make an adjustment to tooling (B) until the height is approximately 108 cm (42.5 in.). Make an adjustment to tooling (C) until the height is 72.4 cm (28.5 in.).
Keep away from the area of the machine when it is driven up on tooling (A) at the front of the machine and the rear of the machine. Tooling (A) can come out from under the tracks with force if it is not installed correctly.
2. Put tooling (A) at the rear of the machine as shown. Start the machine and move it to the rear and up on tooling (A). Put tooling (C) in position under the bevel gear case. The weight of the rear of the machine will not be on tooling (C) until the front of the machine is lifted with tooling (A). Put tooling (A) in position in front of the machine. Move the machine slowly forward and up on tooling (A). As the front of the machine goes up, the rear of the machine will come down on tooling (C). Lift the front of the machine until tooling (B) can be installed under the radiator guard and main frame of the machine as shown. Tooling (A), at the rear of the machine, will be free to remove from under the tracks. Move both tracks to the rear until tooling (A) is free at the front of the machine. 3. Fill the hydraulic track adjuster with grease, as shown, until the track makes contact with the track rollers.
Do not tighten the track too tight. The seals in the track adjusting mechanism will be damaged.
4. Remove rock guards (if so equipped). 5. Remove four bolts (1).
The adjuster cylinder for the track is now under high hydraulic pressure. Do not visually inspect the relief valve to see if grease is released when it is opened.
6. Open relief valve (2) one turn counterclockwise to loosen the tension on the track.7. For removal of the rear track roller only, install tool (D) on the inside of the track as shown. Make sure the other end of the hydraulic jack is against the final drive case as shown. Move the track away from the rear track roller with tool (D) until it can be removed. 8. Put tool (E) under the rear track roller as shown. Fasten a hoist to tool (E). Remove the track roller from the track. The weight of the roller is 59 kg (130 lb).9. Remove any other track roller from the machine as in Steps 4 through 7. The following steps are for the installation of the track rollers.10. Position the track roller on tool (E). Fasten a hoist to tool (E) as shown.11. For installation of the rear track roller only, install tool (D) on the inside of the track as shown.
