PRIORITY - PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR REPLACING THE SLCV SUPPORT ASSEMBLY
MODELS INVOLVED - CERTAIN 303E CR MINI HYDRAULIC EXCAVATORS
Dear Cat Product Owner:
The SLCV Support Assembly needs to be replaced on the products listed below. The existing support assembly has insufficient welds, which can result in the bracket breaking during operation. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Cat dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
If you are no longer the owner of this product(s), please contact your local Cat dealer so that our records can be updated. Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 28Jan2016 when scheduling this service.
We regret the inconvenience this may cause you, but urge you to have this service performed as soon as possible to prevent unscheduled downtime.

Rework Procedure
Note: Work safely. Most accidents that involve product operation, maintenance, and repair are caused by failure to observe basic safety rules or precautions. An accident can often be avoided by recognizing potentially hazardous situations before an accident occurs. A person must be alert to potential hazards. This person should also have the necessary training, skills, and tools in order to perform these functions properly.
Note: Move the machine to level ground before starting this rework.
Note: Put the boom/stick on the ground and relieve all hyd pressure.
Note: Refer to Image1.1.1 and Image1.1.2 for reference.

1. Remove the 8T-4196 Bolt which fixes the supports. The bolt will be reused.
2. Remove the 8T-4200 Bolts W which fix the SLCV. The bolts will be reused.
3. Loosen connectors Y and Z, and replace the SLCV 475-0722 Support with the proper support.
4. Reuse and tighten 8T-4200 Bolts W to a specified toque of 28 +/- 7 N.m.
5. Reuse and temporarily tighten 8T-4196 Bolts X.
6. Adjust the SLCV position in order to fit the seal surface of Y and Z properly.
7. Tighten Y and Z to a specified torque of 65 +/- 10 N.m.
8. Tighten 8T-4196 Bolt X to a specified low torque of 30 +/- 7 N.m.
